FREE Loaner Laptop - We'll lend you a good working laptop which you can use while your desktop or laptop is in our shop for repair. This is a complimentary service we offer, because we know how hard it can be without a working computer, at least you can check your email, check your blog, edit photos/videos and more.

Pick Up & Drop Off: Do you find yourself too busy to drop off your broken devices and pick them up after it has been repaired? Not to worry. We can pick up your device at your home or office and after it has been repaired we can drop it off at your convenience. Back Bay residents/offices FREE of charge. Outside of Back Bay such as North End, South Boston, Cambridge, etc. price will vary (call to inquire about pricing). We can pick up laptops, tablets, mobile phones, small printers, and other small electronics. If your devices are bigger than what i have listed then it will have to be an on-site job      

Computer Diagnostics: Not sure what is wrong with your computer? DON'T WORRY. Back Bay Computer has you covered with our FREE computer service to diagnose problems with your PC, MAC, desktop, and laptop. That's because our main goal is to help you. We will provide you with an accurate estimate of the repair cost within a day or two

Data Recovery: This is a huge upset/scare for people when their data such as important documents, photos, and music are gone/missing. If our tools and expertise can't get it resolved then we would contact a data recovery shop that we work with. To inquire more information about this please call or e-mail   

Data Transfer: Did you buy a new computer recently? Want to transfer your files from your old computer (old computer not working at all) over to your new computer? Don't worry. We have the right tools to make the data transfer easy and fast. Below is a list of what we typically work with when transferring files

PC/MAC Laptop Cracked/Dim Screen: Is it tough to see what your computer screen says? Do you see color lines across the screen? Don't go out and spend a fortune to buy a new one just because it has a cracked or dim screen. You may need to get your screen replaced. *Every laptop is different and price may vary by model and screen size. We will give you a quote in-store

Blue Screen of Death: This is not the end of the world if you see an error code pop up at boot up or just at random times. This is mostly due to hardware or software problems on your operating system or within the laptop/desktop itself. Let us find the issue and we will let you know what the repair is the next day

Virus/Malware Removal: Are you frustrated getting rid of those nasty virus, spyware, and malware? The service includes complete removal of all virus, spyware and malware, application of latest security updates and patches, performance optimization and computer clean up

Password Retrieval: Did you forget your password when logging on to your computer at start-up? Don't panic! We have the right tools to retrieve your password and get you back in the drivers seat

Memory Upgrades/Tune-Ups: Is your PC or MAC running slow? Do you hate restarting your computer because it constantly freezes? If you answered yes to these questions, your computer is in need of a Tune-Up. This service includes removal of leftovers from uninstalled programs, disk cleanup, disk defragmenter, optimization of start-up items to improve boot time, and application of latest updates

CPU Fan Repair/Replacement: Have you noticed that your laptop/desktop overheats at times or the fan gets really loud (like a jet engine) or isn't working properly and forces your computer to shut down? Do you get an error message at boot-up or at any time when you are using your computer? Bring in your computer and we can fix it. We have the rights tools to clean your fan (which is caused by dust build up) or just replace and apply new thermal paste 

DC Power Jack/USB Repair: Laptop won't charge anymore? Still works on battery? USB connector won't work properly? You must have a bad DC Jack/USB and/or connector. Here are the following symptoms:

  • Move the power plug and the laptop loses connection

  • Broken or cracked DC Jack/USB port

  • Laptop won't charge but works on battery

  • Power LED and battery LED flicker when the adapter tip is moved

  • Power LED source won't turn on when plugged into USB connector
